| Do you remember the time, when we fell in love? |
When I heard the news over the radio at 7am, I was in shock.
Michael's gone.
The King of Pop.
And right after the news, they played Remember The Time.
A few tears rolled down my cheeks.
I have no idea why I was so "affected" by the news.
It's not like I know him personally...
But it did affect me.
I grew up listening to him. My sister and I did, thanks to my dad's influence...
We'd watch a VCD of his greatest hits together.
Imitate the awesomecool dance move from Smooth Criminal...
You know, that move where he and a few dancers would lean ridiculously to the front and slowly get back to balance??
Yeah, we face-slammed the couch a couple of times trying to "practise" that move.
And then Thriller comes on, and we'd use the couch pillows to hide behind every time the werewolf chased the woman.
And then The Earth Song's video would make me cry.
In short, Michael's music is the type of music where, if I hear it on the radio, I'd stop whatever I'm doing just to enjoy it :)
(He was my first celebrity crush. Lol. I know, a bit weird, but I loved the suits and the bad-ass dance in Smooth Criminal)
And listening to his songs, when you KNOW he's gone, is just weird. A different feeling to it.
I don't know. Maybe it's just the newness of the news that freaks me out. I'm listening to the song when I knowwwww his body is lying cold somewhere. Brr...
Anyway, I hope he doesn't feel any more pain, wherever he is now.
A man who gave such a beautiful gift to the world (in the form of platinum-selling records) should not have been shunned away to his not-so-nice state of living after the legal cases against him.
I actually would like to believe it wasn't him.
He DID NOT do it.
I know, I'm biased, but HEY.
Smooth Criminal is awesome.
Beat It is awesome.
So are his millions of other hits.
His moonwalk is unbelievable.
Such a great performer.
